a short historyof environmental sound collapse

environmental sound collapse is the current recording/performing alias of Kevin Gondek. The name environmental sound collapse was adopted for his experimental electronic music in late 2001, and the style evolved out out of a desire to create music that was possible to perform live solo while doing video mixing (and sometimes drinking) at the same time. So, environmental sound collapse relies heavily on samplers, synths, computer software, sequencers, multi-effect units, etc. Over the years, environmental sound collapse releases have ranged from spacey, drugged out ambience (the low hum of nearby vibrations) to digital noise (unrelenting; savage; burning) to 8-bit (nintendolotry, BTR8) and many places in between. Live shows have been rare: a result of day jobs, video work, ex-girlfriends, video game obsession and numerous other distractions.
